We know that the best way for you to get to know CU-Boulder is to
come and visit. The College of Engineering and Applied Science
offers a variety of tours and open house programs for prospective
students and parents. These programs give you an opportunity
to personally speak with our faculty, staff, and students, and to
get an idea
of what programs
might interest you at CU-Boulder. Another great way to learn about
CU Engineering before your visit is to browse the
department
web pages. Feel free to contact any department with questions
about coursework and academics in the College of Engineering and
Applied Science.

Engineering Center Tours
The Engineering Ambassadors offer tours of the Engineering
Center on select Monday and Friday afternoons at 2:10 pm during the fall and spring
semesters. Tours begin
at
the
revolving doors on the west side of the Engineering Center, run
approximately 1 1/2 hours and closed-toed shoes are required. The tours
are part
of
the
CU
Student
for
a Day Program, an all-day visit program that leads you through a day of activities typical
for a CU-Boulder student. Please note that you can attend
the Engineering Center Tour without attending the CU Student for a Day
activities, simply meet the Engineering Ambassadors at 2:10 p.m. in the
Engineering Center Lobby.

Engineering Sampler
The college hosts a sampler each fall that offers prospective
students the opportunity to explore the engineering disciplines
and meet faculty and staff in the college. This all-day event is open
to high school juniors and seniors and will
be held on a Saturday, October 11, 2008. Registration for this
event will begin in August, 2008. For

High school
sophomores and juniors are encouraged to attend the summer
High School Honors
Institute.
Explore CU Engineering Day (for admitted students
only) - February, 2009
The college hosts a one-day event in the spring when students admitted to the College of
Engineering and Applied Science are invited to attend informational sessions, visit
with faculty, students, and advisors, and take campus and Engineering

Multicultural Engineering Program
The Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) seeks to increase
the number of students from underrepresented communities
(African American, Hispanic and American Indian and first-generation
students) who graduate with a college
degree in engineering and ensure that they have the full range of
professional skills needed to advance in the profession. To arrange
a high school visit or tour of the college through this program,

Women in Engineering
The Women in Engineering Program provides scholarships, academic
support services and counseling to current and prospective women

Self-Guided
Tours of Our Award-Winning Facilities
Integrated Teaching and Learning Laboratory
This award-winning experiential learning facility includes interactive
exhibits through which people of all ages can learn about different
aspects of engineering, as well as views into the building's structural
and operating systems through its innovative "inside-out" design.
Many of the school's First Year Projects take place in the ITLL,
as well as an Engineering Expo at the end of the school year. The
ITLL offers self-guided tours during regular operating hours, Monday
through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Visit ITLL

Discovery Learning Center
This high-tech addition to the Engineering Center supports the
valuable integration of undergraduate students into the college's
research mission. The mission of this sister facility to the ITLL
is accomplished by guiding student learning through an inquiry-based
approach that complements the academic curriculum. If you are interested
in touring the DLC, pick up a self-guided tour brochure at the DLC
reception desk. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30
p.m.
