'Community of Soundscapes' Project
Creates Acoustic Map of Boulder's Sonic
Environment
Researchers at CU-Boulder's Center for
LifeLong Learning and Design enlisted the
help of 20 community volunteers, who
recorded natural and urban sounds around the
community using the center's digital
recording devices or "sound cameras"
outfitted with GPS mapping software.

The College of Engineering and Applied Science is a valuable
resource for the entire community, supporting the state and local
economies and
helping to develop solutions to a range of community issues and
problems.
You can read about some examples of community service
projects undertaken by students and faculty, both near and far, in our
annual magazine,
CUEngineering:
The college also hosts many public lectures and symposiums (see
Events Calendar), and the
spring and fall
ITL Design Expo,
where members of the community can learn about engineering in a university setting. We welcome
your participation in any of these events and hope you will make plans to
visit us soon! |
