For new undergraduate engineering
students starting school in:
The College of Engineering and
Applied Science offers a comprehensive New Student Orientation Program each year, immediately preceding the beginning of
the fall semester. For new students entering with the spring semester
or the summer term, the college offers less comprehensive
new student programs. (A student entering with the summer term
is expected to attend the New Student Orientation Program
prior to the beginning of the first fall semester, in addition to the
New Student Welcome Program held in the summer.)
Fall Semester New Student Orientation
Program

Introduces new students to key
administrators, faculty, and staff of the college;

Orients you to the Engineering Center
facilities and educational resources of the college;
-
Assists you in learning about the
academic and personal support programs offered by the college and
campus;
-
Provides you with academic
information appropriate to
your degree program; and
-
Provides your parents with major
department, college, and campus information.

The two-day orientation is mandatory for all new
students. Plan for two full
days of learning!
Spring Semester New Student
Orientation Program
The New Student Orientation Program is a mandatory, full-day
program held on the Wednesday prior to the first week of spring
semester classes. Students attend University programs, meet
departmental and college representatives, and register for classes.
For spring semester 2010, the New Student Orientation Program is
offered on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. at the
University Memorial Center (UMC) West Ballroom. The first meeting
begins promptly at 8 a.m. in the UMC Center Ballroom. Students must
register for this program at
www.colorado.edu/orientation.
Summer Term New Student Welcome Program
The New Student Welcome Program
is a half-day program held on the Friday prior to the first week of
classes. Students meet
departmental and college representatives, and register for classes
during the morning. For the summer terms A, C and
D, the New Student Welcome Program is offered on Friday, May 28,
2010, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in ECAD 100 (Dean's Office, Clark
Conference Room). For summer term B, this program is offered on
Friday, July 2, 2010, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in ECAD 100 (Dean's Office, Clark
Conference Room). Program registration is not required for students
beginning in the summer term.
