K-12 Students and Teachers
Welcome to the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Although
our primary mission is educating college students, we have a commitment
to the engineering profession and to the state of Colorado to encourage
diversity and enrich the teaching of science and engineering concepts
to younger students. We offer the following programs for elementary,
middle and high school students and teachers:
- Kids and Engineering
If your child has shown potential in math and science, likes
to build things or has an inquisitive nature, you can encourage this
by attending any one of a number of CU engineering outreach
activities.
- Explore Possible Careers as a High
School Student
As a high school student, you have probably started thinking
about college. If you are considering pursuing an engineering degree,
we recommend you take advantage of the high school opportunities
the College of Engineering and Applied Science offers to help you
plan your education.
- Resources for K-12 Teachers
Are you looking for ways to teach math and science concepts that
will be fun and engaging for upper elementary and middle school students?
We offer professional development workshops and classroom resources
that will help you engage your students in learning about the world
around them.
- Engineering for the
Community
The College of Engineering and Applied Science is involved in
many aspects of the community, stretching from the Boulder/Denver
area to the Western Slope of Colorado. Local events include the ITL Design Expo,
which is fun and educational for the whole family, and various
lectures on topics of current interest.
