Outstanding Advisor Award

The College of Engineering and Applied Science recognizes the importance of good advising and rewards outstanding faculty and/or staff advisors with the Outstanding Advisor Award.

The Outstanding Advisor Award recognizes those faculty and/or staff advisors who demonstrate exceptional advising skills and who serve as role models to other advisors in the college.  Recipients of the award are selected based on the scores and comments received on class surveys and the Outstanding Advisor Award nomination form.  Awards will be $1,000 each.  An award to faculty and/or staff advisors may or may not be made each year at the discretion of the selection committee.

Procedures

Nominations may be submitted by engineering students at any time of the year; however, nominations must be received by March 1 for awards made in that year. A college committee will review the nominations along with scores given to faculty and staff advisors in the annual senior survey before making a selection.  The committee may decide to award one or both awards in any given year. Advisors may not win the award two years in a row. The award will be presented at the end of the academic year.  (Procedure details:  faculty  | staff )
