name and take the traditional walk across the stage to receive
their diploma cover.

When you arrive
at your designated foyer, pick up your preprinted name card.
You will give this to the reader on stage during the ceremony.
Our Engineering Ambassadors will line you up by academic degree
program for the processional, Masters first, then Bachelors. Do
not leave any personal items in the balcony area during the
ceremony.
Ph.D. candidates and their advisors (in academic
regalia) will assemble in the 2nd floor west foyer balcony area
only. Candidates are to check in and pick up your preprinted
name card so that you can give it to the reader on stage. Put on
your academic regalia prior to your procession, but carry your
hood as you will be hooded by your faculty advisor or other
faculty during the ceremony. Guests should not accompany
candidates to this assembly area.
Processional: The processional will begin with the PhD’s,
then the Masters and Bachelors candidates. Ambassadors will lead
you into the auditorium and direct you to fill the east section
of the main floor, one row at a time. Next, the faculty, College
guests, and platform party will enter and proceed to the stage.
Family and
friends should use the center south (main) entrance of Macky
Auditorium. Please note: the doors will not open before 7:15
p.m. The balcony will not be
opened for seating. Family and friends SHOULD NOT accompany
students to the balcony. Ushers will be available if there
are questions.

Ph.D.
candidates will be hooded by their advisors. Your
advisor should line up in front and sit next to you. At the
top of the stage steps, hand your card to the reader and
stop at the mark before reaching the Dean on the stage.
After your name is read, your advisor will hood you.
-
Masters
and Bachelors candidates will be directed by an
usher to form a line to the stage. When you reach the stage
stairs, follow the directions of the usher and staff at the
stage; proceed up the steps and hand your card to the
reader. Cross the stage as your name is read, and then
return to your seat as directed by the ushers.
A
professional photographer will be present. The
photographer will contact you directly about purchasing
these optional photographs. To assist the photographer,
please do not fold your name card.
This Recognition Ceremony will last approximately 1 hour and
30 minutes. Please remain in your seat until all the
graduates have been recognized and until the platform party
has exited the stage.
We would like to announce your name correctly. Please
come to the Dean’s Office no later than November 14th and
fill out a pronunciation slip.
Contact the Dean’s office if you have any questions at
